SAAN held productive meetings on 25 November 2025 with cross-party representatives, including members of the cross bench, at the Australian Parliament House. During these discussions, we reaffirmed our strong support for ACFID and its members’ call for an urgent additional $40 million in humanitarian assistance for Sudan.
We emphasised the need for the Australian Government to use its international role to push for unhindered humanitarian access inside Sudan and to take a more active part in international efforts aimed at ending the war. SAAN also stressed the importance of increasing Australia’s intake of Sudanese refugees and speeding up the processing of Sudanese refugees who are currently living in Australia on bridging visas.
Our message was clear: Sudan cannot wait – and neither can the families seeking safety.
